Does the institution have a program to reduce residence hall move-out waste?:
Yes
None
A brief description of the program:
In the past, residences have collected household goods, clothing, electronics that students do not want to keep, in the lobby of each building. They then would bring them to a donation centre or have an organization pick them up.
In April 2014, a partnership between Fanshawe College and Goodwill Industries was established for a move-out donation blitz. There was precollection of unwanted good at the residences, then on April 23 Goodwill came on campus with a trailer for a donation blitz that was opened up to the Fanshawe community. In total, 3,247 lbs of household items and clothing were dontated.
