A brief description of the program:
Fanshawe College has a staff dedicated to assest reassignment and surplus, and is administered through the Purchasing Department. In Purchasing, all assets are assigned a unique number, and that number is defined in detail along with links to the original purchase order and payment voucher. These unique numbers are attached physically to the asset using sticky red tags. They identify the item as belonging to Fanshawe College and show the assigned number. When assets are no longer useful to the original department they are re-claimed centrally and may have one of many futures. They could be re-assigned to another campus location, stripped for parts, re-cycled, sold at a asset sale, sold on the auction site, donated, destroyed, or sent out as scrap.
