A brief description of steps taken to ensure that e-waste is recycled responsibly, workers’ basic safety is protected, and environmental standards are met:

Research is done to make sure the companies we work with recycle and dispose of items properly. All the recyclers we work with are OES certified. Our safety policies and guidelines ensure workers' safety.


A brief description of the electronic waste recycling program for institution-generated materials:

Office PCs needing to be disposed of are taken to Technical Support Services (TSS), who take ownership. Parts are used and hard drives secured. Other office electronics are evaluated and either kept for sale or sent to recycle. Scrap items and office PCs no longer useful go to TSS, which are recycled. Good and useful pieces are kept and sold at sidewalk sales.


A brief description of the electronic waste recycling program for student-generated materials :

Electronics collection bins are located at the bookstore for students to drop items off. We also host move out day e waste collections.
