The green building guidelines or policies:
Purce Hall was constructed in accordance with LEED Gold guidelines and the College is pursuing certification. "During the construction process 99.8% of demolished materials were recycled or reused to avoid landfills. In the large lecture hall, which also serves as the largest meeting place on Evergreen's campus, seating was expanded, the space's theatrical capabilities were increased, and a large reclaimed wood detail was added on the back wall. Salvaged, decorative wooden screens from the original building were cut and reinstalled into the large lecture hall to create the appealing visual. The use of regional, recyclable, and organic materials was also emphasized to reduce the project's carbon footprint. Finally, it was thoughtfully designed to reduce light pollution at night with increased daylighting and LED lighting controls. The building is currently on track to meet LEED Gold certification." -ZGF, https://www.zgf.com/project/the-evergreen-state-college-purce-lecture-hall/
