Has the institution conducted a GHG emissions inventory that includes all Scope 1 and 2 emissions? :
Yes

Does the institution’s GHG emissions inventory include all, some or none of its Scope 3 GHG emissions from the following categories?:
All, Some, or None
Business travel All
Commuting All
Purchased goods and services None
Capital goods None
Waste generated in operations Some
Fuel- and energy-related activities not included in Scope 1 or Scope 2 All
Other categories Some

A copy of the most recent GHG emissions inventory:
A brief description of the methodology and/or tool used to complete the GHG emissions inventory, including how the institution accounted for each category of Scope 3 emissions reported above:

All calculations were performed using the UNH Clean Air – Cool Planet Campus Carbon Calculator (v8) updated with IPCC AR5 Global Warming Potentials for 2015-16.

Scope 2 Emissions: Evergreen purchases Renewable Energy Credits for 100% of energy consumed on both campuses, a practice which began in Fall of 2005.

Scope 3 Reporting:
-Business travel was calculated using mileage reimbursement rates paid by the college (http://www.ofm.wa.gov/policy/10.90a.pdf) and the Air-Fare yield calculation was done using per-mile cost of travel. ‘Other transportation’ including bus, train, ferries, and taxis were calculated by cost. In-state, in-country, and international travel were calculated separately. Dollars by modality are not tracked, hence, miles by mode are not calculable.
-Commuting was calculated by a mandatory staff and faculty "Commuter Trip Reduction Survey" given every two years, and a mandatory "Student Experience Survey" given annually.
-Other ("fugitive coolants") were calculated: HFC-134a, HFC-404a, and R407C

Has the GHG emissions inventory been validated internally by personnel who are independent of the GHG accounting and reporting process and/or verified by an independent, external third party?:
No

A brief description of the internal and/or external verification process:
---

Documentation to support the internal and/or external verification process:
---

Does the institution wish to pursue Part 2 and Part 3 of this credit? (reductions in Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions):
Yes
