A brief description of steps the institution has taken to ensure that the purchasing policy, directives, or guidelines are followed :

Although we do not use the EPEAT label criteria in our purchasing, we have a clear and “green” computer purchasing process. Our institution falls under the regulations of public purchasing and French law states that we cannot require certain certification or labels/brands. We can request norms such as iso 14001 or 9001, but not private labels (ie imprim’vert).
In our purchasing process, 10% of the purchasing “grade” is based on environmental and social criteria. There are two specific criteria within this that are weighed accordingly.
-Environmental performance of the materials (80%). This includes details on the quality of materials and their life cycles and long-term use, the “green” quality of the products used (recycled materials, biodegradable materials).
- Environmental and social management of the service provider (20%). This includes certifications and procedures that can be proved.
