All AC systems are set at 72 degrees; heat set at 70 degrees. Maintenance regularly monitors controls.

A brief description of Light Emitting Diode (LED) lighting and other energy-efficient lighting strategies employed by the institution:

Eureka College is changing most lighting to LED. Buildings and light fixtures that include LED lighting already include: Sanders Hall, Reagan Museum, outdoor light posts, Alumni Hall flood lights (dormitory), and the first floor of Langston Dormitory. Eureka College has plans to add LED lights to Melick Library in the next 1-2 years.

A brief description of passive solar heating, geothermal systems, and related strategies employed by the institution:

Two buildings (Sanders Hall - academic and Arnold Hall-residential) have geothermal systems. They heat/cool these buildings to 50 degrees and electricity is used to heat anything higher than 50 degrees.

Eureka College is planning on replacing AC units to more energy efficient models in the Cerf Center (Student Union) in 2018.

Total energy consumption was found by looking at the electric bills from all of fiscal year 2015.
