A brief description of the graduation pledge program:
Estrella Mountain Community College implemented the Graduation Pledge Alliance to graduating students in May 2010 and plans to continue offering this to students in future graduations.
The graduation pledge card and an informational postcard were distributed to each graduating student when they picked up their caps and gowns (several weeks prior to graduation). During check-in on graduation day, students signed the Pledge and received green lapel pins to where on their gowns. In addition, information about the Graduation Pledge was printed in the Graduation Program (copy available upon request).
156/240 students signed the Graduation Pledge (65%) and 32 faculty signed the pledge in support of their students.
