A brief description of the campaign(s):
1) Soles4Souls® Challenge & Campaign (April 2010)
Soles4Souls® is a charity that collects shoes from the closets of people like you. They distribute these shoes, free of charge, to people in need around the world. Since 2005, Soles4Souls® has given away over 7 million pairs of new and gently worn shoes (currently distributing one pair every 9 seconds). The shoes have been distributed in 125 countries, including Haiti, Kenya, Nepal and the United States.
The first annual shoe drive challenge and campaign took place April 5-April 23, 2010. The class that donated the most pairs of shoes won an in-class celebration of their choice.
2) New Life Center Challenge & Campaign (October 2010)
The Estrella Mountain Community College Sustainability Team challenged all students to participate in this social, economic, and environmentally sustainable campaign!
New Life Center offers shelter, safety and services to families seeking independent, violence-free lives. High-quality programs demonstrate respect for the individual and a serene environment in which families can heal and plan for the future.
The Estrella Mountain Community College Sustainability Team partners with the Domestic Violence Awareness Month to challenge all students to participate in this social, economic, and environmentally sustainable campaign!
