Name or title of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
Demand Response and Building Analytics
A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
The College participates in a Demand Response program through Enel X and the local utility. In partnership with facilities, the Office of Sustainability helps manage an effective response to peak demand and explore opportunities to reduce energy use in buildings through mechanical operations and setbacks. Over the past 3 years the College has earned over $30,000 in payments through our Demand Response program.
The College is undergoing a pilot for a real-time building analytics software in three larger energy using buildings on campus that will assist with fault detection diagnostics and preventative maintenance. This pilot covers over 200,000 GSF of our facilities.
The College also works closely with a commissioning agent to commission new construction, retro-commission existing buildings and assist with ongoing commissioning efforts. By monitoring our building systems in real-time we are able to reduce energy beyond individual projects. We work closely with our local utility to ensure incentives and pilot new programs they are running that involve commissioning.
Which of the following impact areas does the innovation most closely relate to? (select up to three):
