A brief description of the assessment(s):
On an annual basis, the Office of Residence Life & Housing conducts the EBI survey in the residence halls. This provides a great deal of feedback about diversity on campus. Specifically, the survey focuses on the perceptions and experiences of students in the residence halls. The survey has been conducted annually since 2004. It is cosponsored by other departments, including Emory Dining, the Office of Sorority and Fraternity Life, and Campus Services.

A brief description of how the results of the assessment(s) are used in shaping policy, programs, and initiatives:
The survey results are used by multiple departments. Within Residence Life and Housing, all staff review the results and generate action plans. For example, Resident Advisors review the results from the residents on their floor. Area Directors use the feedback to address specific issues within their buildings. Some examples of issues that were addressed this past year include concerns about noise, weekend programming, and communication about maintenance requests. Similarly, the other departments that cosponsor the survey review the data and generate their own action plans.
