A brief description of the policy:
In February, 2010, as part of Emory’s Sustainability Initiatives and in partnership with The Clean Air Campaign, the University adopted an Idling Reduction Policy that provides operating guidelines for Emory University vehicles and all service and delivery vehicles and freight carriers operating on Emory University property. The policy states that “each driver will be responsible for ensuring that the vehicle he or she is operating does not idle unnecessarily”. The policy is included in the University’s parking rules, incorporated into the departmental driving policies at Emory University, and enforced by the university parking officers.
