A brief description of the institution's Tree Campus USA program:
Emory University has met the required five core standards of tree care and community engagement needed in order to receive Tree Campus USA status.
As part of Emory University’s Tree Campus USA program, Emory has a campus tree advisory committee in the form of The Committee on the Environment, which is a standing committee of the Emory University Senate that works closely with Campus Services and meets monthly to review all projects undertaken by Emory that impact the environment, including new buildings, transportation initiatives, and forest management.
The University has also adopted a Forest Management Plan, available at http://www.emory.edu/home/news/special/files/forest-management-plan.pdf, and a “No Net Loss of Forest Canopy Tree Bank”.
