Sustainability Committee: The Emerson Sustainability Committee, comprising faculty, staff, undergraduate students, and graduate students, encourages environmental, social, and financial actions that reflect the College’s commitment to sustainable practices. This Committee meets monthly throughout the fall and spring semesters. Campus Services appoints members annually, considering expertise, passion, and commitment.
Climate Resilience Task Force: Resilience is the ability of a system or community to survive disruption and to anticipate, adapt, and flourish in the face of change. The key concept in resilience is that in an era of change, it is critical to develop adaptive capacity to ensure a positive future for Emerson. Boston is expected to be one of the areas hit hardest by climate change in North America. It is more important than ever that Emerson shows leadership by anticipating challenges while promoting our five strategies of academic excellence, civic engagement, global engagement, innovation and financial strength. The executive-level Resilience Task Force aligns Emerson’s Climate Action Plan with resiliency categories, including Social, Human, Physical, Financial, and Natural.
