Emerson is under contract with Triumvirate Environmental to monitor and dispose of any hazardous waste on campus.
Triumvirate does monthly inspections of Emerson's universal waste areas and Facilities staff have been trained to store and label universal waste for pick up.

Triumvirate tracks and documents the disposal of our hazardous, universal and non-regulated chemical waste.
Triumvirate's hazardous waste professionals are specially trained and equipped to manage RCRA F, K, P, and U List wastes in a specific market, allowing them to provide a level of expertise and service unmatched in the environmental services industry.
From Triumvirate: "Triumvirate Environmental Inc. disposes of hazardous, non-hazardous, and universal waste on behalf of Emerson College. Depending on the hazards of the waste, this is how we determine the method of disposal. Triumvirate’s disposal services include recycling, incineration, landfill, fuel blending, and waste water treatment. Most universal and non-hazardous waste gets recycled or landfilled. Other hazardous wastes get recycled, incinerated, or go for fuel blending."

Electronic waste is collected year round at the IT Help Desk, during biannual student move out drives, during biannual staff/faculty clean out your office days, and by facilities work-order request.
