A brief description of any internal sustainability professional development and training opportunities that the institution makes available to non-academic staff:
The Office of Sustainability started a Sustainability Employee Resource Group (ERG) in fall 2021, which is open to all staff and faculty. The group aims to inform and support employees interested in creating a more sustainable workplace. Each monthly meeting focuses on a sustainability topic with tips to be more sustainable regarding that topic both on and off campus. Elon has several Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) on various topics, and they are supported by the Office of Leadership and Professional Development (OLPD).
The Faculty Fellow for Sustainability offers programs available to all staff and faculty, such as book discussion groups. The fall 2023 book discussion group was on the following books: Universities on Fire by Bryan Alexander and Fresh Banana Leaves by Jessica Hernandez.

Office of Sustainability staff utilize university provided professional development funds to attend conferences (e.g., the AASHE Conference), workshops and webinars.
