Elon’s Wellness Mission and Model:
As proposed by the Wellness and Well-Being Task Force in 2018 and adopted by the Executive Committee of the Council on Wellness and Well-Being in 2019, the following is the guiding mission and model for Elon University Wellness:
Elon University is committed to fostering an institutional culture of holistic wellness where every individual has an opportunity to transform their mind, body, and spirit. By providing access to resources, educational tools, and support, we will empower each member of our community to cultivate personal wellness values that will last throughout and beyond their time at Elon.
Elon's Wellness Initiative utilizes the Act-Belong-Commit framework to support work around positive mental health and holistic well-being.

Elon University’s RN Ellington Center for Health and Wellness houses the Faculty and Staff Health & Wellness Center, Student Health Services and Student Counseling Services. These offices provide well-being services as well as counseling and/or referral services both independently and collaboratively.

The Faculty and Staff Health & Wellness Center offers acute care services to faculty and staff. This includes lab testing, injuries, vaccines, maintenance allergy injections, disease management, specialty referrals, prescription management, health physicals, coordination of care and preventive screenings. Wellness offerings include: Mammogram Ride for Your Life event; Fleet Feet fitting event; registered dietician counseling; mindfulness series; flu shot clinics; ergonomic workstation review. Elon Work-Life Resources is a free benefit for faculty/staff and their dependents. It is a robust counseling program managed through an outside vendor, MyGroup, with services including confidential emotional support, work-life solutions, legal guidance, financial resources, and online support. Other programming includes educational lunch and learn sessions, exercise classes {Yoga, Pilates, Barre, Weight Lifting, Phoenix Health (exercise class for faculty/staff with medical risk factors)} and wellness challenges, such as an annual walking competition.

Student Health Services provides acute care for illnesses and injury as well as woman and physical exams, health education and counseling, allergy injection service, prescription dispensing service, vaccines and other injections. Student Counseling Services provides crisis intervention, psychological support, individual counseling, mental health wellness outreach and clinical collaboration. Counseling Services offers crisis response at all times through the Crisis Counselor on Call.
Health Promotion is housed in Campus Recreation and Wellness and provides inclusive health programming, advocacy and outreach to support mental, physical and social well-being. The Campus Recreation and Wellness staff coordinates additional wellness related activities for students, such as flu vaccine clinics and maintenance of over 30 AED units on campus.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Elon University has offered and continues to offer support and services to help students, faculty and staff navigate the pandemic and maintain their well-being. This includes on campus testing (symptomatic and asymptomatic), vaccine clinics and quarantine/isolation support, in addition to the other wellness offerings mentioned above. As needed or required, services are adjusted for the pandemic conditions (e.g., outdoor exercise classes, virtual programming).
