A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:
Due to the pandemic, new employee orientation sessions (staff and faculty) moved to a virtual format in the spring of 2020.
The Office of Sustainability created a short recorded presentation that was emailed to new employees that included the following: a brief overview of Elon's commitment to sustainability, the inclusive definition of sustainability, Elon's carbon neutrality goal, ways to get involved with sustainability on campus, information about alternative transportation options and waste reduction tips.
In the summer of 2021, the Office of Sustainability started sending an email with hyperlinks to this information, instead of the short recorded presentation.
