A brief description of the methodology used to complete the course inventory :
A sustainability course and research inventory electronic form was created to allow faculty to report their courses and research for the inventory. The sustainability course offerings definition in the Technical Manual was used. Office of Sustainability representatives shared information about the inventory process and requested submissions via email and virtual meetings (e.g., department meetings, school faculty meetings). The course inventory from the previous STARS report was reviewed and updated. In addition, the 20-21 Academic Catalog, Summer and Winter Term schedules, 20-21 new or experimental courses and graduate programs were reviewed for courses that fit the definition of sustainability course offerings. The course list for each department/program was sent to the department chair/program coordinator for review. The identified courses were cross-referenced with the 20-21 undergraduate and graduate course schedules to ensure they were offered in 20-21. The numbers used in the STARS Report represent the courses offered in 20-21. The list available at the website provided also includes courses that were in the 20-21 Academic Catalog or program information but not offered in 20-21 and courses that were offered in 21-22 (and not 20-21). The total number of courses offered was determined from a report of 20-21 course offerings provided by the Registrar's office after applying the factors identified below regarding multiple sections and course types. The total number of courses offered only includes courses with 2 credit hours or more. The exception to that is individual voice or instrument instruction courses, which were not included. Variable credit hour courses (e.g, research, internship, student teaching, externship) were not included.
