Elon University’s RN Ellington Center for Health and Wellness houses the Faculty and Staff Health & Wellness Center, Student Health Services and Student Counseling Services. The Faculty and Staff Health & Wellness Center offers acute care services to faculty and staff. This includes lab testing, travel clinic, vaccines, maintenance allergy injections, disease management, specialty referrals, prescription management, health physicals, coordination of care and preventive screenings.
Wellness offerings include: massage therapy, healing touch therapy, mindfulness seminars, holistic self-care seminars, smoking cessation and a yearly wellness/benefits fair.
Elon Work-Life Resources is a free benefit for faculty/staff and their dependents. It is a robust counseling program managed through an outside vendor, Compsych, with services including confidential emotional support, work-life solutions, legal guidance, financial resources, and online support.
Other programming includes educational lunch and learn sessions, movement classes [QiGong, Yoga, Pilates, Barre, Weight Lifting, Phoenix Health (exercise class for faculty/staff with medical risk factors)] and wellness challenges, such as an annual pedometer competition.
The Health & Wellness Center also partners with the university’s health insurance provider, BCBS, to provide a program called Healthy Outcomes. Healthy Outcomes gives faculty/staff the resources they need to live healthier and make healthier lifestyle choices delivered through an informative, easy to use website.
Student Health Services provides acute care for illnesses and injury as well as woman and physical exams, health education and counseling, allergy injection service, prescription dispensing service, vaccines and other injections. The Campus Recreation and Wellness staff coordinates additional wellness related activities for students including flu vaccine clinics, maintenance of over 30 AED units on campus, and free Adult and Child CPR/AED Trainings.
The Elon University Wellness Workgroups and JED Committees are committed to supporting the goals and strategies of the International Healthy Campus 2020 initiative, which provides a framework for improving the overall health status on campus through the collaborative efforts of health, academic, student life, student organizations and administrative areas. Their work includes:

•Identify and promote relevant assessment, research, and data collection needs.
As part of the International Healthy Campus 2020 Initiative, the university's initiatives include national health objectives for students and faculty/staff; promote an action model using an ecological approach; and provide a toolkit for implementation based on the ABC (Act-Belong-Commit) framework. The university sponsors a variety of wellness-related activities including Healthy Monday and Wellness Wednesday outreach activities and an annual Wellness Fair that brings together over 50 wellness-related organizations and vendors and is open to all students, faculty and staff.
