A brief description of the institution’s formal community partnership to advance sustainability:
The Elon-Alamance Health Partners program is a partnership between Elon University and four health organizations in Alamance County. The program offers four recent Elon graduates the opportunity to engage in one year of meaningful service work to improve the health of residents in Alamance County. The four organizations are Alamance County Health Department, Alamance Regional Medical Center, Healthy Alamance and Impact Alamance. The program is funded by Elon University with support from Cone Health. The selected graduates are Elon University employees with a one-year contract for the fellowship. They are entitled to all of the benefits, including the option to participate in health insurance, available to full-time university employees. The fellows receive strong mentorship from faculty and their supervisors, as well as professional development opportunities. They are also eligible for an incentive stipend at the completion of the one year program if they attend graduate school in North Carolina or accept employment in Alamance or a surrounding county. The program began in 2015-2016 and is ongoing.

A brief description of the institution’s formal community partnership to advance sustainability (2nd partnership):
The Kenan Community Impact Fellows program pairs recent graduates with community organizations to improve educational readiness for children in Alamance County. It was established in 2015 with support from the William R. Kenan Jr. Charitable Trust and is an ongoing program. The program partners with Alamance Achieves to offer two recent Elon graduates the opportunity to engage in one year of meaningful service supporting programs designed to give every child an opportunity for success. The Fellows partner with Alamance Achieves to serve children in the county who otherwise would not receive preschool and pre-kindergarten education, and help their parents get involved in the learning process. The selected graduates are Elon University employees with a one-year contract for the fellowship.
