Carbon storage from on-site composting represents on-site yard waste composting. The metric tons of CO2 equivalent value was determined using SIMAP. Elon collects and composts 100% of its own yard waste in a facility located on the edge of campus. For this on-site yard waste composting program: the baseline is known, it is additional, there are no known negative secondary effects, it is not reversible and it is not double-counted.

The reporting fields in the table below are reserved for institutions that have NOT already accounted for renewable energy purchases (including RECs and GOs) in their Scope 2 GHG emissions calculations. Other institutions - including all SIMAP users - should report zero ('0') to avoid double-counting.
