A brief description of the postconsumer food waste composting program:
Currently Edmonds Community College has multiple Materials Management Centers that include composting bins set up in the cafeteria. This past year, we purchased compostable to-go ware for all of our disposables to help increase our composting and decrease our landfill trash. Some of the Materials Management Centers are mobile, which get moved around for various college events where food is present. There is discussion about expanding this program to our two espresso stands on campus.
