Does the institution have a wilderness or outdoors program that organizes hiking, backpacking, kayaking, or other outings for students and follows Leave No Trace principles?:
Yes

A brief description of the program:

The Center for Service-Learning has hosted a series of alternative break trips during Winter and Spring breaks to get students engaged in their community while having fun on outdoor trips. A sampling of trips include: 3 years of wildlife tracking trips to Kettle Falls, WA in partnership with Kettle Falls School District, Colville Confederated Tribes, and Colville National Forest (2009, 2010, 2011); 4 years of trail and campsite building and maintenance with Washington State Parks in Moran State Park on Orcas Island (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012); 1 year of trail building with Washington Trails Association in Deception Pass State Park on Whidbey Island (2011). Our partners adhere to the Leave No Trace principles, and actively train the volunteers on these habits. Students engage in service with our community partner organizations and enjoy outdoor recreational activities, such as hiking, kayaking, swimming, and boating.
