A brief description of the sustainable operations and maintenance policy/program and/or O+M rating system(s) used:

Sustainable operations and maintenance is a trademark of ÉTS, the responsible management of resources such as water, air and energy are part of the university's culture, which is why ÉTS has the lowest rate of energy consumption among buildings of the same type.

ENERGY : ÉTS has a system to monitor the consumption of electrical and mechanical equipment in its buildings. All this equipment is connected to a centralized management system allowing remote programming and control (real-time measurement, instant detection of failures, modification of setpoints, etc.) This system allows us to produce energy consumption reports in real time or for specific periods, for example for annual reports. It also allows us to monitor the consumption trends of our buildings and to take action if necessary. ÉTS also has electricity meters on the main electrical entrance of the campus and in most of its buildings. These meters measure kW (power) and kWh (consumption). ÉTS also has steam meters to measure consumption (klb-h) and power (klb). For the benchmark, each year the Ministry of Education and Higher Education publishes a statement of the energy consumption of each Quebec University. This annual report positions ÉTS as the most energy-efficient university among all Quebec universities since the first report was published in 1999-2000. ÉTS is Quebec's leader in energy efficiency and one of the most efficient universities in the world.

WATER : In accordance with municipal regulations, ÉTS has water meters at the entrance of its buildings. The data allow us to draw up consumption profiles and target optimizations.

GREEN CLEANING : In its tenders for janitorial contracts, the ÉTS requires that the contractor have a green cleaning program. The program for the current contractor is attached in the additional document section.
