What is the institution’s current bicycle friendly award level? :
Bronze

A brief description of the institution’s bicycle program, including the year the award was achieved and/or renewed:

EMU has focused on improving covered storage for bicycles around residence halls in near academic buildings. The university also installed a bike fit-it stand on campus since being awarded the Bronze level designation. EMU maintains a student run bike repair coop on campus that provides a place for students to fix and work on their bikes, as well as learn from local bike shop mechanics who provide classes. The bike coop also runs a 15 bike lending library for students to check out bikes for a semester or year. EMU participates annually in the National Bike Challenge and has advocated for bike trails and bike lanes on city-owned infrastructure around campus, including a greenway that is scheduled to be built in 2018 that will connect the campus and surrounding community to downtown Harrisonburg.
