Sustainability training is provided to staff during one or both of the staff retreat days (a spring retreat and the fall retreat) as a part of Eastern Mennonite University's Peace With Creation Initiative. One of the themes is brainstorming and sharing sustainbility-focused operational outcomes that are required for each office and department's annual report.

Conference costs, travel and stay costs are covered for many conferences including AASHE, Smart and Sustainable Campuses; state conferences on energy, resiliency and the environment.
