EMU on-campus groups such as EarthKeepers, Sustainable Food Initiative, Peace Fellowship, and DivestEMU have and maintain a variety of social media accounts that keep followers updated on the activities and initiatives of each club. Earthkeepers has active Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter accounts. S.F.I has Facebook and Instagram, DivestEMU has a Facebook and Twitter.

The current WeatherVane co-editor is in the prominent leadership of both DivestEMU and EarthKeepers. There is almost always consideration given to sustainability-related issues in the weekly editions of the WeatherVane, especially in editorials and opinion pieces written by staff and faculty. Beyond the current make-up, historically the school paper is heavily populated by students active in environmental, peace and social justice groups on campus which gives the newspaper a strong focus on those concerns.

EMU has a quad of three LEED Gold dorms and in the first dorm constructed there is an interactive display going through many of the LEED points as well as giving current information like real-time energy and water usage and public bus schedule.

The dining services staff label local foods in the cafeteria line. In addition, there is signage placed in gardens/initiative spaces around campus (e.g. the campus chicken coops, beehives, orchard, gardens). Information about the Sustainable Food Initiative can be found online, and also in prospective student information brochures.
