A brief description of the institution’s sustainability partnerships with the local community:
EMU worked together with James Madison University, Virginia Department of Conservation & Recreation and Deptartment of Environmental Quality, the Shenandoah Valley Soil and Water Conservation District, the Harrisonburg Redevelopment and Housing Authority, and the City of Harrisonburg in a grant with the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation to implement an array of stormwater management projects in the locality. EMU received $85K of the $325K grant that ran from 2010 to 2012.
