Does the institution have an employee assistance or wellness program that provides counseling, referral, and well-being services to employees?:
Yes

A brief description of the employee wellness program, policy, or practice:

EMU's wellness program is a voluntary health assessment program that provides a small reduction in health insurance premiums as an incentive for participation. Participants have annual measurements of their BMI, blood pressure and blood taken to screen for nicotine usage as well as monitoring of other blood values like cholesterol, tri-gylcerides, etc. If participants do not meet the university's wellness goals, theycan receive free, wellness coaching provided by a contracted company. There is a wellness committee at EMU that hosts cooking and nutrition classes/events, fitness events and a wellness passport program that encourages employees to find new ways of attending to their physical, social, spiritual and intellectual well-being. EMU also contracts with Optima Employee Assistance Program to provide confidential counseling
