A brief description of the cultural competence trainings and activities:
At Eastern Mennonite University, students are required to attend a Cross Cultural study as a requirement for graduation. The Cross Cultural allows students to learn and interact with people from different cultural and diversity perspectives around the world. Twice a week, there are chapel services that highlight diversity both at EMU and abroad as well as diversity seminars and workshops scattered throughout the academic year. There are a variety of student lead clubs and organizations open to all students such as the International Student organization, Black Student Union, and the Latino Student Organization to promote cultural competence on campus.
