EMU has a quad of three LEED Gold dorms and in the first dorm constructed there is an interactive display going through many of the LEED points as well as giving current information like real-time energy and water usage and public bus schedule.

The campus has beautiful hand-painted signage for the gardens, compost, chicken coup, and beehives. There are also signs in the meadows areas that detail why meadows are important and why EMU stopped regularly mowing these areas and what native flowers they were seeded with.

A sustainability tour is given to all the incoming students during their first two weeks on campus. we have also given this tour for faculty staff annual conference and for homecoming weekend.

We put out the City Transit service's New Rider's Guide and bus schedule in the registration line that all students go through each semester. We also have a very thorough safe bicycling guide published by BikeWalk Virginia that we have available for students. The green building dashboard in the Cedarwood residence hall also has updated bus schedule links which in the most clicked on part of the dashboard.
