A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about student commuting, including the timeframe for when the analysis was conducted and how a representative sample was reached, if applicable:
EKU conducts a comprehensive University-wide Transportation Sustainability Survey near the end of the fall semester each year to assess transportaion behaviors as they relate the campus's carbon footprint and to evaluate alternative transportation programs. The FY 2017 survey was open for a month (Nov. - Dec.) and was completed by 1,190 individuals: 107 faculty members, 276 staff, and 1,190 students. This sample size represents approximately 6% of the campus community.
