EKU & Novelis partner to support the Madison & Clark Counties (KY) chapter of Habitat for Humanity through the "Cans for Habitat" program. 100% of EKU's recycled aluminum cans on campus are collected by Novelis, a local aluminum recycling manufacturer, and the scrap value is donated entirely to Habitat for Humanity. This program generates over 50% of the Madison & Clark Counties Habitat for Humanity fundraising annually. As a result, aluminum cans are diverted from landfill and recycled into new beverage containers locally, supporting the local economy while the financial return to Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to building homes for local low income families in need.
