A brief description of the institution’s sustainability partnerships with the local community:

EICCD has entered into formal partnerships with several entities in our local community to advance sustaianability. These include a partnership with the Waste Commission of Scott County and EICCD's Iowa Waste Exchange program, partnerships with the local school district for a STEM education project involving sustainability, participation on the task force to develop the Scott County Sustainability plan, and partnerships with several groups to manage Nahant Marsh, including the City of Davenport, River Action and Friends of Nahant Marsh, Scott County Conservation Board, and several local higher educational institutions. EICCD has also partnered with the Putnam Museum, Figge Are Museum, Junior Achievement, and River Music Experience, all located in Davenport, IA. An example partnership project is the "Scott County Green" (GREEN = Guidance for Residential Energy Efficiency Neighborhoods) grant through the Iowa Power Fund Community Grant program in which EICCD partnered with Scott County, the City of Davenport, and QC Homebuilders Association to educate the public in energy efficiency improvements and educate K-12 students on energy through a series of 20 free 2 hour classes open to the public, and a series of K-12 workshops on energy located at the Nahant Marsh facility.
