A brief description of the IPM plan(s) :
EICCD's Sustainable Grounds Maintenance Standards incorporate the EPA's four-tiered approach to integrated pest management, with monitoring of insects and weeds and prevention of pest infestations important tasks of campus facility supervisors. The standards cover all of EICCD's lawn maintenance areas. The Sustainable Grounds Maintenance Standards also opt for selection of native plantings and habitat, reduction of impervious surfaces to allow for water infiltration, reduced frequency of lawn mowings with no grass clipping bagging, reduction of synthetic fertilizer use, no herbicide use, use of compost as top cressing and nutrient supplement, and sparing applicaiton of sodium chloride for snowmelt.
