Does the institution host a food bank, pantry, or equivalent resource focused on alleviating food insecurity, hunger and poverty among students?:
Yes
A brief description of the food bank, pantry, or equivalent resource:
Shawn’s Cupboard is Eastern's on-campus, student-led food pantry that provides food supplies to Eastern students who struggle with not having enough to eat. Shawn's Cupboard is staffed entirely by volunteers and is open to any member of the Eastern community. The main location is in Knight House, which is the small brick house directly behind Winthrop Hall. Shawn’s Cupboard is a comfortable place on campus where students in need can grab a snack or pick up groceries. All the food at the cupboard is free. Among other things Shawn’s Cupboard has granola bars, cereal, soups, frozen vegetables, pasta, macaroni and cheese, and many other food items.
