Faculty sustainability research incentives 

Does the institution have a program to encourage academic staff from multiple disciplines or academic programs to conduct sustainability research?:
Yes

A brief description of the faculty sustainability research program:
Each fall the University offers Faculty Development Awards (i.e., grants; up to $1,500). These grants can be used to pursue innovative creative or research projects (of any kind!). Thus, this would encompass projects that are sustainability focused or sustainability related. (See attached 2020-2021 call for applications; note, the application guidelines are generally the same year to year.)

The University's Promotion and Tenure Committee considers favorably (but informally), i.e., towards awarding tenure and promotion, research that is interdisciplinary/multidisciplinary. A brief description of the institution’s library support for sustainability research:
Reference and Instruction Librarian Angela Walker created a library research guide on sustainability, which she continues to add to and update. This guide includes several subcategories, including "Teaching Sustainability", "Climate Change", and other topics related to sustainability.

Eastern also offers the EES 205 Sustainable Energy course through the Environmental Earth Science Department, which has its own library research guide. The course and research guide are open to all students.
