ETSU updates there Hazardous Waste Reduction Plan annually as per the Tennessee Hazardous Waste Reduction Act of 1990. ETSU practices source reduction, product substitution, micro scale analysis, chemical redistribution and waste minimization.

ETSU disposes of all chemical waste streams, regulated and non-regulated, through MKC Enterprises. MKC is a full service waste management firm that provides waste management consulting, profiling, manifesting, labeling, and transportation services for the waste industry.
