A brief description of the technology used:

ETSU has met with campus vendors to set up monitors on their vending machines. These vendors have applied various techniques to reduce their energy impact; some vendors have set up timers on the machines to cut them off when they are at the appropriate temperature or when they are not needed. Other vendors have removed the lights from the vending machines to reduce the energy impact of their machines.
