Earlham uses questionnaire, standardized surveys (NSSE), focus groups, extract data from the student's assessment of classes that relate to diversity, and diversity education opportunities for faculty and staff (convocations & lecture series and staff & faculty forums).

Earlham used findings to create: the Multicultural Resource Center; increase education for staff and faculty; start the Library Immersion Fellows Team, a program for first-generation students, which is currently expanding; revise the grievance and harassment policy as well as the bias protocol; increase student engagement; started a Poor People's campaign in Richmond.
