A brief description of the institution’s featured program, initiative, or accomplishment:
On July 1st, 2022, Duquesne affirmed its commitment to sustainability by ratifying the University Sustainability Committee (USC), whose charge is to support, grow, and promote the University’s efforts to build a sustainable campus. This 97-member committee—an assembly of faculty, staff, and students across the University— fosters opportunities for multidisciplinary engagement across academic units, facilities, and university leadership; and identify new opportunities for curricular and infrastructural resiliency. The USC introduced two new working groups over the 2024-2025 academic year, including VegPledge which encourages campus event hosts to utilize sustainable catering options, and DuqGetsMoving which partners with on and off campus groups to provide activities surrounding healthy food and exercise. Additionally, the USC received funding this year to employ a Graduate Assistant, who supports all aspects of the USC.

Duquesne's one-year MBA concentrates student learning on what matters most: hands-on consulting experiences, collaborative management challenges and an unwavering commitment to global sustainability. Building on the United Nations' Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME), Duquesne sets students apart from other MBA degree holders with dynamic case competitions, an international study program, and leadership development opportunities.
With a One-Year MBA, students have the flexibility to pursue a variety of business management roles, including ones affiliated with sustainability-focused organizations, initiatives, or products. The One-Year MBA program is among less than 6% of the world's business programs accredited by AACSB International. The One-Year MBA placed 5th overall in the Corporate Knights Better World MBA rankings. Our graduates go on to hold leadership offices with nationally and globally recognized organizations like Deloitte, FedEx Ground, Herman Miller, and U.S. Steel.
