Duquesne University hosts the Bridges Common Learning Experience - Through the Bridges Curriculum, Duquesne students build knowledge and skills to become life-long, agile learners, succeed professionally, act ethically and contribute to the common good. Faculty across all disciplines are encouraged to develop courses that fulfill these objectives.

Duquesne University reserves grant money specifically for courses and research related to sustainability, which would be open to faculty that lead such courses and research. Duquesne University also hosts funding through the Institute for Sustainable Business Innovation, the Endowed Murrow Chair of Global Competitiveness as part of the MBA of Sustainable Business Practices program.


A brief description of the incentives that academic staff who participate in the program(s) receive:

Courses that are created through the Bridges Common Learning Experience receive a designation and therefore are almost guaranteed higher enrollment.

Duquesne University reserves grant money specifically for courses and research related to sustainability, which would be open to students conducting and presenting during research days on campus, along with faculty that lead such courses and want to start new research projects. Duquesne University also hosts funding through the Institute for Sustainable Business Innovation, and the Endowed Murrin Chair of Global Competitiveness and the MBA of Sustainable Business Practices program.
