All of the degree programs were analyzed to see which of them included a course relating to sustainability. Then the number of FY2021 graduates from each of those programs was summed together.


A list of degree programs that require an understanding of the concept of sustainability:

All undergraduate students in the Bayer School of Natural and Environmental Science are required to take ENGL 302W: Scientific Writing. All undergraduate students in the Nursing School are required to take BIOL 101: Introduction to Life’s Processes. In the Palumbo School of Business, undergraduate students in the Management program are required to take MGMT 460: Strategic Human Resources. In the Rangos School of Health, undergraduate students in the Athletic Training, Biomedical Engineering, Health Sciences, and/or Public Health program are required to take either BIOL 101: Introduction to Life’s Processes or BIOL 112: Diversity, Ecology, Evolution. In the MacAnulty School of Liberal Arts undergraduate students in the African Studies program are required to take AFST 150: Introduction to African Studies. All International Relations students are required to take IR: 245: International Relations. Undergraduate students in the Psychology Program are required to take PSYC 480: Psychology and Community Engagement, undergraduate students in the Rhetoric program are required to take COMM 305: Public Advocacy and undergraduate students in the Sociology program concentrating in Social Justice and Policy program are required to take SOCI 106: Social Problems and Social Policy.
All graduate and professional certificate students in the Environmental Science and Management program are required to take ENVI 670: Environmental Biology. All graduate students in the Sustainable Business Practices Masters of Business Administration are required to take MGMT 712: Sustainable Business Practices. All graduate students in the Professional Masters of Business Administration are required to take MGMT 738: Global Business.
