A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation :

All entering students are provided with reusable water bottles upon arriving to campus and are told to use them instead of plastic water bottles. Additionally, students that are entering the Environmental Studies/Science undergraduate and graduate programs learn about their courses which include sustainability on campus. Last year, we met with the orientation office and arranged plans to include fact sheets about sustainability on campus in the orientation folders (will be given to all entering freshman and transfer students). Additionally, it was planned for the Center for Environmental Research and Education to have their own table during orientation where students can come to learn more information about sustainability on campus and ways to get involved. Unfortunately, COVID-19 prevented orientation from being run as normal, but these plans are set to take effect at next year's orientation.
