Drexel staff are represented on an environmental advisory group for a Philadelphia City Council Member to develop legislation around environmental issues. Drexel University serves on the Philadelphia School District’s GreenFutures Energy and Energy Efficiency Committee. GreenFutures is the PSD’s sustainability plan. Drexel initially advised on the formulation of the original five year plan and was then invited to remain as a permanent operational member of the committee. Drexel is a member of the 2030 District, Philadelphia's Green Building United chapter, which advocates for the development of sustainable buildings.

Yes

A brief description of how the institution engages in public policy advocacy for sustainability at the state/provincial/regional level:

Between 2021 and 2022 Drexel organized and facilitated the Climate Resilience Research Agenda, a collaboration among southeastern Pennsylvania academic researchers, community leaders, and government officials to identify needed areas of research that are required to bolster the region's resilience in the face of climate change's impacts on infrastructure and public health. The final report will be released in 2023 and will identify research areas in need of public investment.
