Programs and Initiatives
Competitions in the residence halls have been facilitated by the Residence Hall Association and hall Executive Councils.
Most academic and administrative buildings have signage above the trash and recycling bins indicating what is and what is not acceptable to put in those designated bins.
A brief description of the institution's waste audits and other initiatives to assess its materials management efforts and identify areas for improvement:
Waste audits in 2017 and 2018 were completed. This led to the launch of a new waste system within the halls. Drake purchased new garbage and recycling bins that were more strategically place in the buildings. Most individual office and classroom trash and recycling bins have been removed from classrooms, labs, and individual offices to encourage a more systematic garbage and recycling disposal program throughout the halls.
