A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:
The Center for Sustainability Education provides an overview of their services to the new employees of the College a minimum of five times per year. During each session, coordinated by the Human Resources Department, the facilitator describes sustainability education services that can be beneficial for employees at the college as way as ways that employees of the college can support sustainability initiatives as they work. The staff session also includes an overview of our commitment to carbon neutrality, our climate action plan, campus living laboratory opportunities and other sustainability issues, both locally and globally. A Dickinson definition of sustainability is presented that describes how sustainability at Dickinson is about more than just the environment, and helps make connections to social and economic aspects of some of the common programs they will encounter at Dickinson.
