Dickinson’s Wellness Center provides integrated healthcare to Dickinson College students in service to the individual and college community needs. In order to foster student wellbeing, services are aimed at the prevention and treatment of illness, as well as the maintenance and promotion of health. Services include counseling and psychiatric services, health services and nutrition services. These student-centered services are provided in ways that recognize, respect, and value the diversity of the student body toward an end goal of enhancing the wellbeing of every student. https://www.dickinson.edu/homepage/138/wellness_center.

Dickinson’s Employee Wellness Program, established in 2006, provides fitness, nutrition and health programs for all employees and their families. A variety of exercise classes are offered year-round and are promoted through an annual Spring Into Fitness Challenge. Nutrition program sessions are offered yearly on topics such as weight management, diabetes, digestive disorders, food allergies and food intolerances. In addition, individual nutrition counseling is offered. Preventive health programs for employees include biometric screening, health risk assessments, tobacco cessation counseling and seasonal flu vaccinations. A variety of incentives are provided to promote participation in the programs and the programs are made convenient for employees by scheduling activities at different times and venues on campus. Since the inception of our wellness initiative, Dickinson has seen a significant reduction in our annual healthcare insurance renewal rates and we have been recognized as a Platinum-level Fit Friendly Worksite from the American Heart Association. http://www.dickinson.edu/homepage/86/employee_wellness.

Dickinson also offers counseling and referral services through the Employee Assistance Program to help employees solve personal problems. http://www.dickinson.edu/info/20083/human_resource_services/529/employee_assistance_program.
