A brief description of the institution’s green event certification program:
The Sustainability Leadership Program piloted
Students created and distributed a checklist and guide for sustainable events on campus. This checklist is now distributed to all student organization presidents (over 100 student orgs on campus) and the pdf guide is available by request.
All 80-students in the program held a workshop in spring 2019 to kickoff the certification program, which had over 100 people in attendance. (The event itself was certified by the program). Since the workshop, we have had 2 "sustainability consulting" interns through the Office of Sustainability refining the checklist and creating a more comprehensive guide and certification criteria for green events on campus. In Fall 2020, there will be a Sustainability Consulting group in SLP dedicated to certifying green events on campus.
